On Nov. 13, four people were injured in a multi-vehicle crash on FDR Drive, according to authorities. The event reportedly transpired shortly after 4 a.m., when a 33-year-old woman in a Kia sedan was allegedly traveling south in the northbound lanes and struck a Chevy Traverse head-on near East 23rd Street. Following that collision, the Kia continued on and collided with another vehicle, a Honda Pilot, police said.
The 46-year-old driver of the Traverse was injured in the wreck and required emergency transport to Bellevue Hospital. Authorities reported that he suffered a head injury and was in critical condition. Emergency crews transported the 33-year-old Kia driver to Bellevue Hospital in critical condition. According to authorities, she too suffered a head injury. A 28-year-old passenger in the Kia suffered injuries requiring hospitalization as well. Authorities reported that the passenger was in stable condition. Reportedly, the driver of the Honda was also hospitalized following the crash.
It was not clear immediately following the accident whether alcohol or drugs were involved in the car accident. Furthermore, police did not make any arrests nor file any charges during the immediate aftermath of the event.
In any case, when individuals suffer injuries in a crash, they often seek out a personal injury attorney for guidance on how to possibly pursue a lawsuit in relation to the crash. Moreover, the attorney may provide injured parties with representation whether their suit is resolved through negotiation or litigation. Either way, if the claim results in compensation to the plaintiff, it could help the injured parties to cover their medical expenses and loss of income related to the accident.
